Lake Norfolk is an Ozark lake and unusually quiet and secluded. The lake is perfectly clear and the hilly shoreline is completely uninhabited, all natural sand and thick forest. The houseboater will find no end of coves to explore and whether you drive a houseboat or a smaller, sporty personal watercraft, you will never have to worry about feeling crowded. Some days, you may seem to have the lake to yourself.
This is quite a lake to have to yourself. The famously clear water does not conceal dramatic formations below the water, both natural and manmade. Scuba divers often dive far below the surface of the water to explore sunken caves and the famously sunken Henderson Bridge, built a decade before the reservoir filled. You don't need to dive to see, not only these, but grand schools of fish, threading in thriving numbers through those crystal depths.
With all those fish in open view, you may not be able to resist fishing off the deck of your houseboat. Rainbow trout and striper bass are two of the more plentiful and sought after species you'll find here. But whether you fish or simply float, you'll find Lake Norfolk's untouched serenity both relaxing and inspiring.
