Quagga and Zebra Mussels at Lake Powell

LAKE POWELL IS QUAGGA AND ZEBRA MUSSEL-FREE.

Quagga and Zebra Mussels are an invasive and damaging species of bivalve that are contaminating bodies of water throughout the United States.

Unlike other lakes throughout the States, Lake Powell is free of harmful quagga and zebra mussels, thanks to rigorous monitoring and prevention efforts. If you are bringing a boat that has been in another body of water, you must check in with the NPS Mussel Inspectors at the top of main launch ramp to be inspected and possibly decontaminate your boat prior to it being placed into Lake Powell. This free service is necessary to help keep Lake Powell beautiful and pristine.
