Hiking at Lake Trinity

  • Trail of the Trees - 1 mile roundtrip interpretive trail from the Tannery Gulch Campground on the Stuart's Fork arm.
  • Trinity Lakeshore Trail - 4 miles each way, this trail runs from the Clark Springs Campground to Pinewood Cove Campground, along the western shore of the lake.
  • Trinity Alps Wilderness - Trails from 1.5 miles to 15 miles in length through forested wilderness of granite peaks and alpine lakes. Permits are required.
  • Granite Peak - 4 miles each way, a steep trail to a peak within the Trinity Alps Wilderness, with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains - the trailhead can be reached from a logging road that starts across from the Bushy Trail Campground at the lake.
  • Boulder Lakes - 2.5 miles each way, an easy hike alongside the lake where camping and fishing is available - the trail head can be reached by taking Highway 3 to Coffee Creek road. Follow the road for 10 miles.
