Welcoming Doctors Lake Marina at the St. John's River!

We are glad to welcome Doctors Lake Marina at the St. John's River in Florida to our houseboating family! Doctors Lake Marina is located at the northern end of St John's River in Fleming Island, just a 40 minute drive south of Jacksonville airport.  Doctors Lake Marina will give you, our beloved client, another option to consider when planning your St. John's River houseboat vacation, as we also rent from Holly Bluff Marina on the southern end of the river.

The ship store at Doctor's Lake marina offers last minute supplies, convenience items and even wi-fi access at the marina. There are also restaurants and shopping within a 10 minute drive, and about 10 golf courses to choose from all within a 30 minute drive from the marina. The area also hosts unique events like the Wizard of Oz Festival in March, and the Northeast Florida Scottish Highland Games Festival in February where folks gather to enjoy athletics, music, food, whisky tasting, a kilted golf tournament, and just plain have fun.

The River Runner and Fare Share houseboats can accommodate a group of 8 for as little as a 2 day rental, for a full 7 day week long rental, and everywhere in between. Kayaks are available to rent as well, and at a discounted rate when you rent them with your houseboat! Hiking and bicycling trails, canoeing, water skiing and swimming near the springs are also fun activities to keep in mind while you're enjoying the river.

The fishing is fantastic! In fact, the St. John's River is known for it's Largemouth Bass fishing, but there are also flounder, sea trout, american shad, as well as bluegill and speckled trout. Birds and wildlife are also aplenty with osprey, eagles, blue and white heron, turtles, and even alligators. (The alligators mostly stick to the creeks and ponds.) And if you find yourself near Holly Bluff Marina on south St. John's River, it is not uncommon to spot manatees. The gentle giants are known for spending their winters in the warm spring waters of Blue Springs State Park.

There are plenty of reasons to make your way to the St. John's River in Florida. What will yours be?
